Verisimilitude the is appearance of being true or real, which means it has photo-realism effect for games.
Producers focus way too much on graphics because thats what gamers "want". Graphics are not always need to make a great game, for example minecraft, and older 5th gen console games are great but dont have the best graphics needed but are still great. High graphics gaming can put alot of stress on PCs and consoles as the graphics just keep getting more and more powerful for no real reason other than gamers not knowing the difference between the graphics and aesthetics, Which in turn means having to get better gear to play those games. Stylised Aesthetics is what gamers actually want but dont realize it. aesthetics is the "gameplay" of the game, for example the actual story of the game. the highest sold games ever are the lower graphics games like mario and minecraft even though minecraft doesnt have a story. the links to my info http://akinokure.blogspot.com.au/2012/04/video-games-place-in-realistic-vs.html http://www.popmatters.com/column/189333-video-games-and-the-aesthetics-of-the-impossible/ http://nazgamestudies.blogspot.com.au/2015/07/verisimilitude-vs-stylized-aesthetics.html
