Week 1: Game design is the basic building blocks of most if not all games, as all games use some type of mechanic to make the game work. Game design is normally misused and it gets mistaken for art or programming witch are also important aspects of digital games.
Week 2:Prototyping is normally the heart of good game design. its a creation of a working model of the idea that allows you to test it and make improvements to it. Game prototypes, while playable, usually are a rough sketch of the finished product. Week 3: Chance is a type of mechanic used in games, It is mainly used in board games as they involve dice and random card drawn to how you win the game and involves little to no skill to play them. Week 4:Constraining and modifying game play after getting feedback on what doesn't really work Week 5: Luck is the main mechanic of board game people always complain about it like "if i rolled a 10 i would of won". Week 7: Game concepts intellectual property is very important to game developers as that is there life that the have created and dont want others to take credit Week 8:Simulations are based around real life guidelines and policies some are fun others are not so much fun as just boring piles of nothing, but simulation is changing to become more absurd and stay relevant to gamers. Week 9: the three player problem occurs when an odd amount of people want to play it can throw the balance of the entire game out like with table tennis you dont want three people playing as someone will have no one to help them. Week 10:social games are popular as people want to feel as apart of the community, it gives people the advantage of having friends all over the world. Week 11:adding mechanics is great for games in the prototype stage while getting feedback on it but not taking out old mechanics can screw the game.
